Why Do I Keep Getting Snacks During Covid-19: Session 3 Hypnotherapy With Monica

Why do I keep going to get snacks?

The mind is a miraculous thing, especially when it comes to eating!  I am sure all of you out there have said I will eat just one more M&M but after that one I am done; I will no longer think of M&Ms again!  What does your mind immediately do?  It can’t stop thinking about M&Ms!  Why is this?  This is because the mind can not process negative meaning in a sentence, so when you say I will no longer think of M&Ms your mind hears I will think of M&Ms.  This is why you are shortly into the kitchen or snack pantry looking for M&Ms.  We need to change the way we talk to ourselves about the snack.  You say instead I will make healthy choices that feed my body the energy it needs.

How do you know if you are indulging because of emotional hunger or if it is physical hunger? 

Emotional hunger will come on suddenly and Physical hunger will come on gradually.  There are many reasons that people tend to indulge in food either healthily or unhealthily.  The main emotional causes for someone to indulge are fear, anger, tension and shame. Doreen Virtue wrote a great book about these feelings and what they mean in her book Constant Cravings.  When people are feeling fear, you may be feeling insecure, abandoned, depression, intimacy issues, or control issues.  If you are feeling anger you could be feeling anger with another person, betrayal, victimization, at injustice to life itself.  If your feeling tension, you could be feeling stress, frustration, jealousy, imbalance in your life.  Shame you may be feeling low self-esteem, lacking belief in yourself, feeling unworthy.  Pay attention the next time you go to get a snack and see if you can pin an emotion to the reason you are wanting that food. In our World right now, I feel most people are indulging because they are emotionally eating.  The good news is if you can pinpoint an emotion, I can help you with that with Hypnotherapy Sessions.

What can you do if you are an emotional eater?

We are nervous, bored, scared, fearful, and off schedule right now as a Society, to just name a few.  Food is a constant in our lives, and it is something we can control.  If you are an emotional eater here are few things you can do to help stop the trips to the snack pantry.

  1. Just being aware of why you are making the trips is the first step
  2. I recommend journaling these feelings because there may be more then one that comes up, bring your journal with to your appointment so I can help pinpoint the most significant emotion.
  3. Eating on a schedule to control your blood sugar so you don’t have big up or down swings will help regulate your emotions.
  4. Exercise is the best way to process emotion, it boosts self-esteem and gives you energy instead of sugars or caffeine. This doesn’t have to be a full out bust your butt workout, it can be anything that you haven’t been doing, so a walk, yoga, a couple trips up and down your stairs.  Set a goal of working out 10 min a day or 30 min a day whatever you can fit in.
  5. Turn off Social Media and ALL Media! It’s not all bad but it is all spinning your mind.  You know what that spinning feels like when you look up at the clock and are like WHAT where did the last hour go?  You feel disconnected from reality and even a little lazy.  Give yourself an hour (whatever you feel you need) but then don’t look at it again through out the day.  You will feel more grounded and more present.
  6. Write positive affirmations and put it on a post it note as reminder of how beautiful, capable and strong you are so you can get through the cravings when they come up, because they will come up. And then journal those feelings!

Gratitude

Sometimes it’s hard to feel gratitude in this time in the World but I am thankful to my Teacher Linda Bennett who has allowed me to use her beautiful writings and allowed me to put my voice to her scripts for all of you.  I am thankful that this pause has given me the opportunity to practice this craft and to share it with all of you.  I am also thankful that the next blog post and recording I do will be on gratitude so look next week for that.

What To Do About Those Grey Hair!

Curbside Product Pick up April 25, 2020 12:00-3:00pm

With the Stay At Home order extended to the end of May we thought some of you may be needing a refill on some of your skin care, haircare, homeopathic and don’t forget the WINE!  We have decided to do a preorder, curb pick up product day to help you restock what you may need.

What’s The Plan?

  • We will take orders via email info@backtoblisswellness.com or via FB messenger for orders to be picked up on Saturday April 25 between the hours of 12:00pm to 3:00pm. All orders must be received no later then 5:00 on Thursday the 23rd. All orders will be fulfilled in the order they are received.  If we run out of the product you are wanting, we will email you alternative product choices and you can choose if you would like the alternative or not.  We will not be restocking our shelves until we can reopen so when we are out of product we are out.
  • We will be calling you throughout the week to get your payment information. We are only accepting Credit Card payment due to Covid-19 and you must have your order prepaid for before picking up. All orders must be picked up in our COLBY location on Saturday April 25, 2020.

What We Need To Know From You:

  • What products you are wanting and in what quantity. (if you are unsure what product you are looking form don’t hesitate to email us or Facebook us and we can help you decide or find out what you previously purchased)
  • Your Name and a phone number and the best day and time to reach you for payment
  • A time frame that would work best for you for pick up on the 25th

How product pick up will work

  • We can not have anyone entering our building during this time and we need to keep the people safe that will be handing out product.
  • When placing your order please give a time frame that works for you to pick up and we will have that product ready for you.
  • When you arrive at Back To Bliss Colby Center your items will be in a bag outside our doors during your chosen pick up time with your name on it. If multiple people are picking up at the same time, please use all social distancing rules and wait for that person to be out of the area before you would pick up your package. We will be inside to assure no one takes the wrong packages.
  • If you would have questions about pick up on that day please call our main line at 715.316.0040 we will be in the building from 12:00 to 3:00pm

  • I can not tell you how much we as a business and our team is missing all of you. We have been blown away to see the support our small communities have given to all the small businesses in our areas that are able to still be open and servicing our communities. Releasing Negative Thoughts Through The Rainbow: Hypnotherapy Session 2 with Monica

I hope this post finds all of you healthy and finding some sort of new balance/routine in our changed world.  Our first blog post was about relaxing your mind and body and being able to just take a few moments for yourself.  This post I want to focus more on releasing negative thoughts and rebuilding those thoughts with positive words that reinforce all our goals throughout this Pandemic.

I am sure if any of you out there are anything like me finding a new normal is not as easy as it seems.  I have had talks with other people about why can I not motivate to do the things that when I am working, I always say I don’t have time to do.  Like cleaning out closets, reading the stack of interesting books I have, playing more games with my children, going on long walks with my Husband.  What I have come to realize is that we need to give ourselves grace during this time and we need to have a way to release negative thoughts, that our bombarding on our minds from media, social media and maybe even our families.   If we are able to let go of those negative thoughts and images and replace them with something that builds us up and gives us hope it will also give us energy to get to some of those things we are wanting to do on this pause.

In This Session

This session I am calling Rainbow Release, it is about releasing negative thoughts and rebalancing your mind.  Crossing the rainbow to see your beauty and the power of positivity.  At each color that we travel through in our Rainbow, we will focus on a center in your body (chakra center) and build each center in a positive light.  Removing the negative and replacing with positive.  For example, your heart center, I think most of us can relate to this center, we have all had a heart loss or heart break.  When we want to protect our hearts from hurt or loss, we will pull our posture forward, rounding our shoulders protecting our hearts, maybe even placing our hands over our hearts.  The emotion when we loss someone or something we love we call it heartbreaking and that is the emotion that we feel, hurt, loss, loneliness like our heart will break in two.  The heart center is about accepting love and giving love, it is represented by the color green.  In this session when we travel to the green part of the rainbow, we will be talking all about compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love.  Each rainbow color is a representation of the different center in your body and what emotions that center represents.

When you are done listening to this session you will feel a full body balance, helping you to feel safe, secure, freedom to create your greatest desires, find more personal power, compassion, forgiveness, unconditional love, communicate with warmth and wisdom, the ability to concentrate and to feel more energized.  Who doesn’t want all those things in their life!

Relaxation Hypnotherapy Session With Monica

I have been going to school for a year and half to complete my certification to be a Clinical Hypnotherapist.  I strongly believe that we are given things in our life that challenge us, sometimes so much that we think we may break.  The last couple weeks for me I have found myself struggling with my mental health.    I know so many of you out there are also struggling because of loss of job, fear of what may become, fear of sickness, loneliness and so many other things.  Part of my struggle has been that I have an entrepreneurial brain which means I couldn’t fathom that I right now I cannot control the fact that we had to close down our Business, and that I couldn’t come up with any solution (because there isn’t one) on how to make money or how to create something new.  So I took a week or so to sit in my sadness and tried to remind myself that this won’t be forever and that I am not the only one struggling and that it is ok to be vulnerable and show other people that they are not alone with their struggles.  As I feel the fog lifting from my mind, I thought something I could do to help any of you that need just a little extra support right now is to record some of my Hypnotherapy sessions and put them on our website so you can relax and hopefully calm some of the anxiety.  I want to be completely honest that I am doing this for you, but I am also doing this for me.  This is a craft that makes me feel so good about this new journey of mine and it is helping me keep busy and my entrepreneur mind at bay, so I thank each of you for coming on this journey with me.

What Is Hypnotherapy In My Words

Hypnotherapy is a relaxation of the mind.  It is a way of having your conscious mind the part of your mind that is always talking, you know the one that will not be quiet when you are trying to fall asleep?, that part of your mind subsides while your subconscious mind stores and retrieves data, it listens to what your conscious mind is telling it to do from our habits to our daily patterns.  For us to change our habits, daily patterns, emotions and feelings we need to help our subconscious mind to store new habits and let go of old ones.  Hypnotherapy is used to help a person rewrite the story they are telling themselves by using positive affirmations and thought patterns.  Hypnotherapy is NOT an entertainment act or anything like what you may have seen on a stage.  Your conscious mind is not absent when you use Hypnotherapy it is just resting, so anything that your conscious mind would hear that it doesn’t like it will not remember or take that suggestion.  So, no fear of clucking like a chicken.  Therefore, one on one appointments are so impactful because we get to sit down, talk about the issue and come up with a plan of action using your words so your conscious and subconscious mind want to hold the new story.

My Plan Of Action

This is my hope for the next couple weeks, my hope is that I will do different recordings that allow you to relax and come out of any negative thought patterns you may be having at this time.  My hope is that some of you can find peace in what I am offering.  I hope to do a new blog post once a week, but I may get to more.  My hope is that if you have a specific issue you would like me to post about that you think others are dealing with also you will comment on this post and I will make a recording.  My hope is that if you are really struggling and you don’t think this is enough support you will reach out to me and we can do a Skype session over the computer so you can get the support you need.

This recording on this post is a deep relaxation recording, do not listen to this recording while driving or under any influence or operating any heavy equipment.  If any of you have been to my Yoga classes, it’s like a very deep relaxation that we do at the end of the classes.  If you think your families will join you grab them, and all lay down and listen.  It’s about 18 min long in run time.  Please share this post with anyone you think could benefit from these recordings.
